History

Bodegas Fernandez was founded in 1920, currently is the 3rd generation of the Fernandez Family managed the winery. The first preparations took place in the Place known as La Jimena, and then move the facilities to the city of Jumilla in 1946 where he began working the second generation of this family business, rather than in some years was locked in the old urban.

With the third generation of the family, the winery moved to Murcia Avenue on the outskirts of the city in 1974, where he is currently and where they have built modern facilities which have been changing as new techniques as have been advising in order to obtain quality wines that today demand new markets.

Recent investments have been completed in 2000, with the construction of an aging wine cellar with 800 oak barrels, storage shed with 30 tanks plus 10 stainless steel tanks and hopper autovinifiers grape crushing, all computer controlled both the selection of varieties such as temperature control.

Our goal has always been to ensure the quality of the wines, as well as presentation, to be always up to us demanding our clients and friends. The winemaking is conducted every year getting in the months of September and October the grapes from farmers in Jumilla,
grape varieties produced are mostly Monastrell, Syrah, Merlot, Tempranillo, Garnacha, Airen and Macabeo.

The wines are marketed under the brand Campoclaro, Campolargo, Perla Real, Vega Jimena and Escudo de Plata. Bodegas Fernandez has experience and tradition in winemaking. Experience in export to European Union countries, Switzerland, Canada, the United States and China.
